From the desk of the Executive Director…
“Happy 2020 to you. This past year, Friendship Village certainly had its fair share of changes and challenges. I know 2020 will bring good changes to the campus and we, the staff, make a commitment to do the best we can with the resources we have available to us.
One great change is the hiring of our new Director of Nursing for the Health Center. Ryan Hall, RN, started at the facility on January 6, 2020. Ryan has good experience working with older adults and will be a wonderful addition to our team.
A behind the scene change that is happening right now is our conversion to an automated payroll system. Beth Brand, our payroll coordinator, is working hard making this huge conversion possible. We have had corporate support through this process, and this will make payroll so much more efficient and timely. Special thanks to Beth and the other HR members for their help with this project.
Friendship Village has also converted to an online maintenance program called TELS. This very inexpensive program will help the coordination and execution of work orders and preventative maintenance on campus. If you have a work order, please follow the same process as you have been following. In the cottages, we have a company coming to fix/replace gutters that were damaged in the tornado so look for this project to start soon. Please know that we, as management and staff are working hard to prioritize the issues on campus and will continue to make progress in improving campus.
At the end of the month, we celebrate Activities Professional week so make sure to say thank you to Kim and her staff for a job well done!
